Sporting Classics Awards Alaskas Boardwalk Lodge for Excellence By Alaska Boardwalk Lodge Friday, February 25th, 2011 Thorne Bay, Alaska (February 25, 2011) - Recognized by guests each year as one of North Americas prime fishing destinations, Alaskas Boardwalk Lodge has been presented the Sporting Classics Award of Excellence as Fishing Lodge of the Year for 2010. One award is given each year to a select lodge that best exemplifies the finest sport fishing destinations - with premier fishing, guides, gear, staff, food and accommodations. Sporting Classics is well respected throughout North America for discovering the very best hunting and fishing destinations worldwide. Speaking of Boardwalk Lodge, columnist Bob McKinney states, " the lodge has truly become an international class destination for not only the quality of its fishing, but for its comfort and gourmet dining." This exclusive lodge-of-the-year honor is determined by Sporting Classics editorial staff. Several staff members frequent scores of lodges each year in search of the premier lodge to receive this tribute. Alaskas Boardwalk Lodge was among several top finalists and received the Award of Excellence to be announced in the March/April issue of Sporting Classics magazine. Lodge owner, Brad Steuart, is thrilled with the attention his Orvis-endorsed lodge has been receiving, "At Boardwalk we have a premier fishing destination and a fine lodge; however, its our people that make the difference. Each of our freshwater guides, saltwater captains, culinary staff and support personnel make each guests experience truly unique." "Its much more than fishing, " remarks Steuart. "Our business is Alaskan adventure - our mission is to create lifelong memories and to pass on the spirit of Americas last frontier to each and every guest. Judging from our guest responses and the media acclaim were receiving, Id say were successful."
