The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama provide youth development programs and services throughout the year for the young people of Mobile and Baldwin counties. The organization was established in 1957 and now includes 18 youth development club sites serving more than 5,000 children. The clubs offer homework help, tutoring, computer training, drug prevention program, visual arts, music and sports activities. It also offers residential and day treatment programs for adjudicated youth, including Camp Martin Leadership Academy, Pointe Academy and G.R.O.W.T.H. The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama has more than 300 full and part-time employees and is one of the largest youth organizations in Alabama. B&GC, based in Mobile, Ala., is a member agency of United Way of Southwest Alabama and South Baldwin County United Way.
