Specialized facilities and equipment consist of machine; pipe; electrical, electronic and heating ventilation and air conditioning shops; heavy-lift cranes and transports; and three graving docks. Primary operations are the shipyard in Groton, Conn., and the automated hull-fabrication and outfitting facility in Quonset Point, R.I., with a workforce of nearly 11,300 employees.
