Lion's Club Park, located off Rockbridge Road just south of Lawrenceville Highway, has been hosting youth sports for decades, first as a park managed by the Lion's Club and now as part of the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation system.
The 51-acre park has three multi-purpose playing fields which can accommodate baseball, softball and football.
It is home to the Greater Lilburn Athletic Association, which plays youth baseball and softball, and the Lilburn Lions of the Gwinnett Football Association.
The park features batting cages, ample room for team warm-ups and spectators, and centrally located restrooms/concessions.
This organization, dating back to 1898, was founded due to a need for veterans to secure their rights, benefits and band together, thus forming The Veterans of Foreign War. Post 9143 is located on Dahalonega Highway, just off the square in Cumming.
The VFW supports our troops, community, schools and youth through various services. It hosts Bingo on Tuesdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 7:00pm. Annual holiday events include a turkey shoot, holiday gift baskets and a Christmas party for children. This VFW also hosts Boy Scout Troop #39.
Prince Hall MRA Grand Lodge is located on historic Auburn Avenue in Atlanta. It is part of the Order of the Eastern Star for Georgia & Jurisdiction. The lodge practices the lessons taught by the Five Heroines of Our Order. It is only open to members.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of the oldest fraternal organizations in existence. Since 1868 the order has provided funds, goods and services to veterans, the disadvantaged and handicapped and has supported numerous civic endeavors. Leisure activities at this chapter include bingo, pool and dancing.
